Research & Evaluation Associate Ipas Abuja

Ipas, a global, non-profit reproductive health organization, working in Nigeria seeks a Research and Evaluation (R&E) Associate. The Associate will conduct data analysis and management, perform technical writing and document review, and provide research and evaluation support as needed.

This is a fulltime time staff position based in Abuja and is available immediately.



Responsibilities include:
• Perform data entry, cleaning, analysis and management of quantitative data sets for research, monitoring and evaluation as needed
• Provide technical support for program monitoring and evaluation, including the implementation of M&E systems (data collection, data management and documentation, and results reporting)
• Train staff and consultants in M&E data collection and processing
• Prepare tables, charts and figures for internal and external publications
• Draft, review and edit documents prepared for internal and external use
• Prepare literature searches and bibliographies
• Serve on management and technical support teams for country and regional programs
• Support the Senior R&E Associate in all aspects of research projects, including protocol and data collection tool development, data analysis and interpretation and dissemination
• Provide administrative support as needed
• Carry out other tasks to support Ipas’s R&E efforts


Requirements for the position include:
• Masters degree with 2-5 years work experience in research and evaluation of health programs in developing countries, especially in West Africa, or bachelors degree with 5-8 years work experience
• Experience with word processing, spreadsheet, statistical analysis computer packages (e.g., STATA, SPSS, SAS, EpiInfo) and presentation software (PowerPoint) required
• Experience with geographic mapping software and qualitative analysis software (NVivo, ATLAS.ti or others) a plus but not required
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Nigerian languages.
• Well-organized, with ability to track multiple projects and deadlines
• Experience in providing administrative support to work teams
• Ability and willingness to travel domestically and regionally, up to 35% of working days per year. A limited amount of international travel is required.

• Ability to work legally in Nigeria
