Senior Manager Ground Services & Cargo

Department: Commercial

Section: Ground Services & Cargo

Reporting: General Manager Commercial

Directly Reporting Positions:

  • Kigali Hub Manager
  • Customer Handling Manager
  • Ramp Manager
  • Cargo Manager

Key tasks:

  • Management of airport and ground operations throughout the company’s network.
  • Management of transfer process at Kigali airport.
  • Management of outsourced ground handling providers at the outstations.
  • Designing and implementing service delivery standards
  • Management of cargo sales and cargo handling
  • Be the senior point-of-contact for customer airlines in Kigali for all cargo and ground handling matters
  • Provide advice to the General Manager Commercial in the matters relating to the outstations and outsourced providers.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge of company standard operating procedures and practices relating to ground handling and ground handling safety
  • Ensure compliance with security regulations and company security procedures relating to outstations
  • Coordinate training for outstation personnel and outsourced ground handling providers
  • Manage and have accountability for the regulatory compliance and training of outstation personnel and outstation ground handling providers
  • Approve training courses and documentation for airport outstations
  • Approve the training and assessment programs for airport and ground operations
  • Negotiate ground handling contracts and third party supplier agreements
  • Oversee the customer service experience from a ground handling perspective

Authorities

  • Expenditure within the company’s approved budget for ground operations
  • Recruitment and selection of ground services providers and outstation personnel

  • Delivery of ground base products and services
  • Management of on time performance from a ground handling perspective

Required Education & Experience:

  • Broad based airport management knowledge
  • Extensive customer handling as well as the cargo experience (sales and handling)
  • Significant experience in an airline ground operations management role
  • A University Degree in a related field

Senior Manager Network & Revenue Management

Department: Commercial

Section: Network & Revenue Management

Reporting: General Manager Commercial

Directly Reporting Positions:

  • Planning Manager
  • Pricing Manager
  • Revenue Manager
  • CRC (Central Reservations Control) Manager

Key tasks:

  • Designs the schedule and optimizes the hub ‘in the heart of Africa’
  • Defines the revenue management and pricing strategy
  • Establishes route performance and yield targets
  • Defines fare structures and pricing points
  • Designs inventory management processes
  • Structures the revenue management, pricing and CRC team
  • Assists in acquiring revenue management forecasting and optimisation tools where necessary

Authorities:

  • Network and scheduling
  • Pricing and fare structures
  • Route performance and yield targets by network, markets and routes
  • Accountabilities:
  • Develop a hub at Kigali airport with an increasing number of routes in line with the strategic plan
  • Link network, sales, finance and revenue management targets in the drive for yield
  • Fare filing with ATPCO
  • Meeting yield targets through managing flight profiles, key events and revenue maximisation opportunities

  • Unit revenue per ASK and route profitability results

Required Experience:

Min. 8-15 years of relevant airline experience in revenue management, pricing, forecasting and yield management as well as significant experience in network or route management
Education:
Bachelor degree in business or mathematics is essential, a Masters degree is preferred
