Assistant Manager, Operations

The Outreach and Research Programme of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health has nine community-based field sites across Pakistan (including five in Karachi) and focuses on research for betterment of women and child health. The Department has a Nutritional Research Laboratory as well as an Infectious Disease Research Laboratory that cater the needs of its research projects. It has well-acclaimed work to its credit both at the national and international level, not only impacting the health policies but also enabling millions to live an improved life.Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of ​Assistant Manager, Operations.
Responsibilities

The appointee will be responsible to:

  • Provide support for operations, planning, systems and controls of Paediatrics Department research projects;
  • Ensure smooth running of outreach and research operations including, staff recruitment, procurement, travel, transportation, inventory management, logistics and event management etc.;
  • Provide support to various projects from an operational, financial and resource standpoint;
  • Provide advice, guidance and direction to staff towards their professional development;
  • Implement policies, procedures related to departmental structure;
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements as relating to the department.
Requirements

​Candidates should have:

  • Master’s degree preferably in Business Administration or Administrative Sciences;
  • 4 - 6 years of work experience on administrative position preferably in a health care organization with at least 1 year experience in research administration;
  • Excellent communication and supervisory skills;
  • Good language skills in Urdu and English (both written and verbal);
  • Resilience and ability to cope up with work pressure;
  • Should have marketing, financial management and strategic planning knowledge.
