SA National Parks ASSISTANT CLUSTER MANAGER: FRONTIER CLUSTER

To develop and manage a system of national parks that represents the biodiversity, landscapes and associated heritage assets of South Africa for the sustainable use and benefit of all.

INVASIVE SPECIES CONTROL UNIT
ASSISTANT CLUSTER MANAGER: FRONTIER CLUSTER
ADDO ELEPHANT NATIONAL PARK - MAIN CAMP
Salary Range: R20 793.19 Total CTC per month

The above is a fixed-term contract position up to the end of March 2013, renewable under mutual agreement when the next employment cycle starts on 1 April 2013.

Key performance areas: • Assist with the coordination and implementation of projects managed through the Invasive Species Control Unit (Working for Water, Working on Land, Wild Life Economy and Working for the Coast) • Mentor and manage all project personnel within the projects
• Assist with short- as well as long-term planning of the projects • Analyse and compile progress reports • Perform monitoring and evaluation of projects • Offer general assistance to the Cluster Manager.

Minimum requirements: • Tertiary degree or diploma in Conservation or related project management field • Computer literacy • Code 08 driver’s licence • Working knowledge of and experience in the Occupational Health and Safety Act and COIDA • A minimum of 5 years’ relevant operational experience in alien vegetation clearing or contractor management • 5 years’ experience in project management.
