Domain Lead: Networks

A vacancy exists within the Knowledge and Information Technology Department at Corporate Office for a Domain Lead: Networks.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant Degree/Diploma
  • CCDE / CCIE or equivalent qualification
  • ITIL v3 Foundation

Experience:

  • 10 years IT experience.
  • Extensive experience in the successful implementation and management of global data and data networks.
  • Knowledge of provisioning IT services in global mining companies will be an advantage.
  • Successful engagement with a wide range of stakeholders across business.

Accountabilities:

  • Maintenance of the overall network infrastructure throughout AngloGold Ashanti, this includes the design, deployment and support of medium and enterprise communication infrastructure projects with special focus on data and voice networks and relevant technologies.
  • Establish a Community of Practice and actively engage all relevant stakeholders. Through this forum take leadership of this technical domain and establish roadmaps and guiding principles for network architecture in AngloGold Ashanti.
  • Create and maintain documentation, diagrams and schedules relating to the communications infrastructure architecture. These include: network diagrams, device configuration templates and standards.
  • Interact with regional / site network resources, service providers and contractors in order to deliver on projects and services. Provide leadership and mentoring to site network resources in the configuration of network devices.
  • Lead Problem Management activities for the troubleshooting of complex network problems.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives relating to network infrastructure. Respond to requests from Business to analyse, improve, replace or implement network systems to provide better support to all stakeholders.
  • Planning and management of resources in order to achieve role requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, legislated regulations, policies, work standards, and governance requirements in area of accountability

Manager: Infrastructure Planning

Remuneration:

A market-related package commensurate with the experience and track record of the candidate is offered.

  • Must be willing to travel both locally and internationally.
