AngloGold Ashanti Domain Lead: Hosting Services

A vacancy exists within the Knowledge and Information Technology Department at Corporate Office for a Domain Lead: Hosting Services.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant Degree/Diploma
  • Server, Storage and virtualization certification
  • ITIL v3 Foundation

Experience:

  • 10 years IT experience. Experience should include the following:
  • Understanding of data centre technologies and processes to deliver service and management excellence.
  • Managing a team of highly skilled, business and IT professionals, to deliver an ITIL-based enterprise-scale data centre and hosting service facility and capability in a complex, multi-site (preferably mining company).
  • Extensive experience in server technology, virtualization technology, storage and backup technology, as well as relevant supporting technologies and processes.
  • Moderate experience in infrastructure applications e.g. directory services, messaging and unified communications.
  • Managing interactions between suppliers/outsource providers, in-house teams and customers, to reliably deliver effective and efficient 24*7 hosting services within large-scale, complex operating environments.
  • Work in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Successful engagement with a wide range of stakeholders across the business.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead the hosting services domain throughout AngloGold Ashanti, inclusive of the following technologies or parts thereof: server, virtualization, storage and backup.
  • Support the Domain Lead for Infrastructure Applications.
  • Control management and supervision of subordinates and third party service suppliers in the delivering of hosting services. Ensure that all assigned monitoring functions are effectively and continually executed.
  • Actively manage system availability SLA's and ensure that all services are available at agreed times. Industry best practices and processes, such as ITIL, should be followed in the delivery of all hosting services.
  • Identify risks, plan and design technical capacity, disaster recovery and business continuity planning for services. Accountable for financial planning necessary to deliver hosting services.
  • Establish a Community of Practice and actively engage all relevant stakeholders. Through this forum, take leadership of this technical domain and establish roadmaps, standards, guiding principles and working practices for hosting services in AngloGold Ashanti.
  • Creation and maintenance of documentation, diagrams and schedules relating to the hosting services infrastructure architecture. These include: design diagrams, device configuration templates and standards.
  • Lead during Problem Management activities for the troubleshooting of complex problems in the hosting realm.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives relating to hosting services. Respond to requests from Business to analyze, improve, replace or implement technology and systems to provide better support to all stakeholders.
  • Provide coaching, guidance and support to operations centre staff.
  • Resource planning and management, in order to achieve role requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, legislated regulations, policies, work standards, and governance requirements in area of accountability

Remuneration:

A market-related package commensurate with the experience and track record of the candidate is offered.
