AngloGold Ashanti Manager: End-User Computing

A vacancy exists within the Knowledge and Information Technology Department at Corporate Office for a Manager: End-User Computing.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant Degree/Diploma
  • ITIL v3 Foundation
  • ITIL v3 Expert or Master (Accomplished or In progress)
  • MDP or equivalent management qualification would be an advantage

Experience:

  • 10 years IT experience.
  • Experience should include the following:
  • Operational management of a large end-user environment.
  • Managing a group of highly skilled business and IT professionals to deliver an ITIL-based enterprise-scale end-user computing services and capability in a complex, multi-site, preferably mining company.
  • Extensive knowledge in the following ITIL processes: Incident, Problem, Change, Knowledge, Configuration Management.
  • Moderate experience in directory services technology, messaging technology, unified communications technology, storage technology and relevant supporting technologies and processes.
  • Management of interactions between suppliers/outsource providers, in-house teams and customers necessary to reliably deliver effective and efficient 24*7 end-user computing services within large-scale, complex operating environments.

Accountabilities:

  • Management of End User Computing throughout AngloGold Ashanti, inclusive of the following technologies or parts thereof: desktop computing hardware, desktop operating system, desktop productivity software and all other components and services on the end-user devices.
  • Accountable for Level 1 and Level 2 support processes.
  • Control management and supervision of subordinates and third party service suppliers in the delivering of end-user computing services. Ensure that all assigned monitoring functions are effectively and continually executed.
  • Actively manage agreed/contracted service levels and ensure that all services are available at agreed times. Industry best practices and processes, such as ITIL, should be followed in the delivery of all end user computing services. This role is accountable for the execution of following ITIL processes: Incident, Problem, and Change, Knowledge, and Configuration management. Configuration Management is limited to end user computing.
  • Participate in the relevant Communities of Practice and provide input in the establishment of roadmaps, standards, guiding principles and working practices for End User Computing services in AngloGold Ashanti.
  • Creation and maintenance of documentation, diagrams, operating procedures and schedules relating End User Computing.
  • Primary point of contact for service levels and issues for users/clients. Maintain the overall customer relationship and user/client satisfaction.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives relating to End User Computing services.
  • Planning and management of resources in order to achieve role requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, legislated regulations, policies, work standards, and governance requirements in his/her area of accountability

Remuneration:

A market-related package commensurate with the experience and track record of the candidate is offered.
