Description
Position description:
The Site Safety Technician will report to and work directly with
site management and personnel to achieve all aspects of coordination and
implementation of the site safety program.
Major Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities of the
Technician include: Working both with site management and ESH staff to
achieve desired ESH goals of the site. Assists others in implementing
and monitoring industrial safety programs to ensure personnel and
facility safety. Through leadership of all ESH required safety programs
at site, the effective employee will balance site observations,
auditing, and employee coaching in day-to-day activities with
documentation and development of site training and improvement areas.
Prepare and retain training documents, job safety analyses, and other
documents related to site safety activities as required by site
management and ESH staff. Possess ability to present training programs
in a manner that creates employee involvement. Responsible for auditing
of site as required by site management and ESH staff. Participates in
evaluating new equipment and materials for safety. Participate in
safety network as required. Assists others in performing surveys and
inspections to ensure compliance with the organization's policies,
procedures, regulations and standards related to employee safety.
Documents non-compliance or hazardous conditions found and the remedial
action taken. Responds to emergency situations in the facility. Must
keep abreast of changes in all OSHA, VPP and State safety codes, permits
and regulations. With site management involvement, develop cost
effective structure to achieve site ESH goals. Attend additional
educational training as required. Performs other ESH duties as directed
by Site Manager.

hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach
with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up
to 40 pounds.
Understands and complies with Monsanto Safety guidelines and
housekeeping practices, trainings and wear appropriate PPE when
necessary
Qualifications
· Bachelor in Agribusiness, Engineering, ESH, or related field of study.
· Outstanding leadership and communications skills
including the capability to clearly present information to influence or
persuade others through oral or written means.
· Demonstrated decision-making ability and problem-solving skills essential.
· Results/detail-orientation and the ability to work with a sense of urgency.
· Capability to work with site management, ESH staff, and
site employees in such a manner as to build high morale and group
commitment to goals and objectives.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
· Working knowledge of ESH, OSHA regulations, and seed production processes experience a plus.
Spanish speaking is required.
