Job Description:
Position Summary: Pact seeks an Organizational Development Director (ODD) for a USAID Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) umbrella grants program in Nigeria. Recruitment is contingent upon successful award of the project. The OVC program will focus on service delivery including: food and nutrition services, health services, economic strengthening services, shelter and care services, psychosocial support services, education/learning services and protection services.
The successful candidate will be responsible for: building the organizational capacity of local, Nigerian sub-grantees. The ODD will work with sub-grantees to manage their operations as effectively and efficiently as possible; s/he will also design and closely monitors the implementation of organizational capacity building initiatives. The ODD participates in national capacity building and systems strengthening initiatives intended to promote local ownership and contribute to the sustainability of HIV and OVC programming. The ODD directs and supervises senior OD staff and short and long term technical assistance for the organizational development program.
Specific responsibilities will include:
• Conduct capacity assessments of partner NGOs and CBOs and design organizational development plans.
• Design and administer trainings around organizational development and oversee ongoing capacity building interventions.
• Support program officers and partners in providing high quality capacity development services.
• Collaborate with public agencies to improve regional coordination among OVC activity implementers.
• Remain up-to-date with latest methodologies, best practices, and donor requirements.
• Gather data for Project Monitoring and Evaluation.
• Contribute to regular implementation reports.
• Other duties as assigned by the Chief of Party or Technical Program Director.
Skills:
• Creative thinker, energetic team player;
• Ability to work in partnership with team members, partner agencies and community members;
• Fluent English language skills, both written and spoken;
• Knowledge of local languages a plus;
• Flexibility to live and work outside of Abuja, possibly in Kaduna or Enugu;

Education & Experience:
• Master’s Degree in Organizational Design, Human Resources or Business--or related field
• At least five years of experience directly working with Nigerian CBOs, FBOs and NGOs to strengthen their organizational development.
• Extensive experience working with Nigerian government agencies.
• Experience in OVC programs a plus .
