EveryChild is an international development charity working to stop children growing up vulnerable and alone. Our ambition is to create a global movement to stop children growing up without parental care. We are leading the development of a new global alliance, Family for Every Child, which will be launched in 2014. Family for Every Child is a new international network of NGOs working together to ensure that more children can grow up in safe and caring families or in appropriate permanent alternative care.  The Coalition currently has 13 founding members working hands-on with children without parental care in every region of the world. It is supported by a global team (the Coalition Support Unit), hosted by EveryChild UK, that leads collective activities in policy, research, advocacy and knowledge exchange.  Advocacy is a key component of the work of the Coalition and distinguished by the leadership role played by its Members.  As a Coalition of national NGOs, all of its advocacy, including that at the global level, is grounded in the voices, experiences and participation of national actors.  Another key principle guiding the work of the Coalition, including its advocacy, is the participation of children and families. We are currently recruiting for an Advocacy Advisor on a consultancy basis from 12- 18 months. The Advocacy Advisor will work to build the internal capacity of the Coalition’s members to advocate at all levels - national to international.  This includes, providing technical and strategic support from a distance, conducting national and regional capacity-building, coordinating multi-country campaign actions, and supporting Members’ voices, and the voices of the children and families they work with, to be prominent at the global level.
