Senior Program Analyst - Monitoring and Evaluation, Coady International Institute

This position reporting to the Partnership Management Specialist will build on existing Monitoring & Evaluation work and create baselines for measuring Coady's inputs to outputs, outcomes and results, which vary across programs.

The position is located at the Coady International Institute on the campus of St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, with potential for some travel.

The salary range for this position is $55,000-$60,000 depending on qualifications. The position is based on 37.5 hours per week with the understanding that extended hours may be necessary to meet the institute’s requirements.


Responsibilities include: 

•    Contribute to the design and set up of Monitoring and Evaluation, impact assessment and learning processes for Coady’s programs with some variation according to donor and program. 
•    Implement monitoring and evaluation and impact assessment in a timely and consistent manner in accordance with the agreed upon design, and in line with donor and Coady deadlines.
•    Contribute to donor reports as required through the collection, preparation and delivery of specific monitoring and evaluation data.
•    Work with program managers and program staff to understand the monitoring and evaluation needs and processes, enabling them to provide the needed support.
•    Provide input into the Monitoring and Evaluation needs and processes of new programs.


Qualifications/Skills: 


•    Previous experience in developing and conducting Monitoring and Evaluation and impact assessment systems and processes, preferably in an international or community development context.
•    Masters or Bachelor’s degree and relevant experience in related area are required. 
•    Highly organized and efficient.
•    Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills
•    Knowledge and experience working with international programs and donors an asset. Previous experience with CIDA funded programs would be an asset. 
•    Strong analytical and writing skills
•    Ability to work independently while ensuring that outcomes are met
