Candidates will need a Grade 8 certificate or equivalent, experience in a production or mining environment and basic development principles, as well as a Drill Rig Operator Certificate and Licence (Certificate of Competency).

Honesty, impartiality and integrity, high motivation and being a self-starter are also needed. A Blasting Certificate and at least 2 years’ experience on a drill rig would be advantageous.

Duties and responsibilities include: • Ensuring that daily production targets are met • Ensuring effective utilisation of equipment • Promoting and developing team effectiveness within the TM3 section • Ensuring health and safety of people and conditions.

Candidates must be declared medically fit for the position and the environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the relevant Gold Fields Occupational Health and Safety Centre, and must pass a Heat Tolerance Screening Test.
