Fundación Progreso Social Entrepreneurship Intern

The Progress Foundation Building Community through Innovation
The Progress Foundation mission is to urge innovative social, community-building driven impact on the initiatives we take part in. The Progress Foundation seeks to channel multi-sector skills and capabilities to the Nonprofit and development sector in order to advance innovative programs and initiatives to development challenges. With these skills, matched with drive and vocation, we aspire to contribute real impact to the lives of many.
The Progress Foundation doesn’t fit into the normal labels of being a foundation, a CSR initiative or a Nonprofit. We’re a business within a business - a social enterprise in a corporate construct.
The Progress Foundation is a multi-platform organization based on a model, which delivers impact for our clients, yields social benefits to the community and creates a sustainable environment for our continued efforts.
Our programs and services are represented over a range of different platforms, these are; CREATING [BILD], COMMUNITY & INNOVATIVE PROJECTS. The content and concept of these platforms or operational branches, and their respective missions and services, have been created to inter-operate independently to each other, but in support to one another.
The barriers are coming down between the private sector, civil society and government and we feel that an organization of this nature can help bridge the gaps and friction during this change. The emerging role for The Progress Foundation is a broker and as an integrator working at the nexus of the sectors, to foster, create and implement across the partnerships that make real change where it’s needed. We believe that cross-sector convergence can be a positive force for change—a force for achieving social progress, in a way that harnesses and aligns the distinct capabilities—and distinct interests— of each sector to deliver high performance.
We believe that successful development is a direct result of healthy strong communities, and for that purpose, a true a convergence of approaches is needed to provide adequate solutions to the challenges of development. Greater collaboration between organizations in the public, private and nonprofit sectors is necessary to tackle persistent social challenges, - our unique position in this intersection of the corporate world and the third sector - allow us to bring together a diverse group of partners and affiliate organizations, to leverage the distinct competencies of each sector to find innovative partnering opportunities. This collaboration across sectors, we feel is a critical aspect in our pursuit to strengthen our community and advance our development.
The Progress Foundation looks towards solutions that are sustainable over time, not towards projects with a three- or five-year life-span that go away when a defined funding source dries out. Such solutions often—though not always—are market-oriented, looking to the power of market forces to drive sustainability.
The Progress Foundation is designed to operate on a not for profit basis to channel, and provide strategic services and project management expertise to non-profit organizations, NGOs, foundations and donor organizations operating in various sectors, to help these organizations achieve their social and economic development goals. Our value lies in our ability to combine skills, expertise, and tools from the private sector, the third sector and the public sector.
