Sexual and Reproductive Health Project Associate , Switzerland


The Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH) contributes to the improvement of the health of populations internationally and nationally through excellence in research, services, and teaching and training. The Swiss Centre for International Health (SCIH) is a service department of the Swiss TPH providing advisory and implementation services in developing health systems worldwide. We work in a stimulating academic environment, with links to bilateral and multilateral organizations, universities, and non-governmental organizations.
The Sexual and Reproductive Health Unit (SRHU) is seeking to fill the following position:
Sexual and Reproductive Health Project Associate
The successful candidate will provide managerial and technical support to the Sexual and Reproductive Health Unit of the SCIH. This “junior/mid-level position” will also include a strong training on the job component and should help the successful candidate to strengthen her/his capacity and competence in applying theoretical knowledge to practical project management work. The position is full-time based at the Swiss TPH in Basel, Switzerland, but can include international missions after an introductory phase. To best fit into our active, interdisciplinary team we expect the following qualifications:
• Background in health; Ideally a postgraduate training in public health;
• Strong interest and some working experience in the following fields: sexual and reproductive health, maternal and neonatal health, health systems management and planning, HIV & AIDS, or comparable; • Working experience in countries with resource constraints;
• Knowledge and experience in the development of training materials (especially e-Learning tools) would be a plus.
• Excellent German and English language skills are a requirement, knowledge of French would be a plus;
• Good MS office skills;
• Good writing skills, experience in proposal writing and drafting reports would be a plus;
• Good communication skills, strong spirit of team work, eagerness to learn, flexibility;
• Willingness to travel.
