The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:
• A Matric (Maths and Accounting) is essential
• A university degree in Cost and Management Accounting is essential, with Honours being an advantage
• Computer literacy (MS Office package) is essential
• Good leadership, analytical and communication skills are essential
• Technical ability and assertiveness are essential
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with people of all cultures
• Medical fitness
• An accredited qualification with CIMA/SAICA/SAIPA would be advantageous, as would a minimum of 1 year’s relevant experience as an Accountant in a mining environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Providing a user support service to line and functional management through proactive information to ensure timeous logistical supplies so that overall objectives are met
• Ensuring adherence to and maintenance of the budgeting and forecasting system for accurate and timeous information
• Taking ownership of own career development and growth, keeping abreast of changes and development in the financial environment and the development of skills and competencies to ensure that dynamic job requirements are met
• Adhering to the Company’s financial/accounting policies and procedures and ensuring the implementation and maintenance of sufficient financial controls
• Ensuring adherence to and maintenance of the internal financial control systems relating to the operational cost management
• Executing ad hoc investigation/evaluations or value adding projects as required from Management and individual employees.
