Cardno Emerging Markets USA, Ltd. (Cardno) is seeking candidates for a Health Financing Senior Advisor position for an upcoming USAID-funded health project in Uganda. 

The proposed Health Financing Senior Advisor will oversee programs designed to increase access to credit and financing for the private health sector, working with financial sector partners to identify and structure products and services that meet the needs of the growing private health sector in Uganda. The Advisor will support communication efforts and implement capacity building programs to increase the use of financial services by private health providers with a focus on underserved and rural areas.

Qualifications:

■        Advanced degree (MSc, MA, PhD) in business administration, finance, or health economics

■        Familiarity with Uganda’s financial services sector, including microfinance, commercial banking, and small business lending programs

■        Three or more years of experience working in a commercial financial institution on credit-related issues in Uganda or another East African country

■        Demonstrated ability to design and conduct training programs for small business owners, including financial management and business plan training

■        Knowledge of Uganda’s healthcare sector and/or experience of donor-funded access to finance projects are highly desirable

■        Strong interpersonal, writing, and oral presentation skills.
