Broadband Infraco is a State-led intervention to rapidly normalise telecoms market efficiency by commoditising only those parts of infrastructure that impede private sector development and innovation in telecoms service and content offerings. With this ground-breaking development comes the need to find enthusiastic South Africans with appropriate skills, qualifications and experience to form part of this initiative.
PROJECT MANAGER
Key outputs: Reporting to the GM: Capital Programme, the incumbent will provide project management services on selected initiatives from handling the pre-feasibility phase through execution, commissioning and postimplementation solution tracking. This includes, amongst others, the formation of implementation strategies, scheduling of multiple projects, and resource management experience. Timeous delivery of projects, within budget and quality standards, is very important and the successful candidate must ensure compliance with organisational policies and processes.
Qualifications and experience: Candidates must boast a recognised Project Management qualification equivalent to a 3-year post-Matric qualification, complemented by 3-5 years’ telecommunications and Information Technology project management experience and knowledge of financial and management accounting practices and systems. T3/S4 or equivalent would be advantageous. The role also demands recognised knowledge of contracts and contractual terms and the proven ability to manage fibre-optic and site construction contacts.
