Norwegian People’s Aid is a humanitarian organisation rooted in the Norwegian Labour Movement. We work with International Development Partnerships, Humanitarian Mine Action, Rescue Service and First Aid, and Asylum and Integration. Norwegian People’s Aid has more than 12000 members in Norway and 2400 staff worldwide. We work in 37 countries around the world, and will in 2012 have a turnover of 800 million Norwegian kroner.
Programme Manager – Syria
Norwegian People’s Aid has been involved in humanitarian mine action since 1992 and is one of the leading humanitarian demining organisations worldwide. Together with national authorities and other stakeholders we are working to resolve problems faced by local communities caused by mines and cluster munitions and other weapons. Currently NPA has 30 on-going Mine Action Programmes in the Balkans, Africa, Central Asia, South East Asia, South America and the Middle East.
NPA seeks an experienced Programme Manager for our emergency response intervention and Mine Action programme in Syria. We are recruiting now to prepare for a possible intervention as well as coordinate planning efforts and other activities such as assessments, mapping and risk education. NPA is seeking a person with experience from operations in conflict areas and with technical and operational planning skills. The contract period will be 1 year, with possibility for extension.
