We are working to ensure the proposed HS2 scheme – a £33bn investment - is supported by robust analysis and evidence, and the full range of potential impacts of the scheme are fully understood and measured as far as possible. As an Economics Analyst, you will have the opportunity to deliver high profile analysis, building programme and project management capability, and working closely with leading experts in transport appraisal, Department for Transport colleagues, and the HS2 Ltd Commercial and Technical Directorates as part of a dynamic new organisation with a focus on results.
Specifically, you will be given excellent opportunities to deliver new commercial analysis to support the Economic and Financial cases for HS2, and you will be responsible for a complex programme of data analysis that is required for the Transport Assessment and Environmental Statement. Your remit will also include developing new revenue and financial models, as well as risk management and quality assurance.
If you have excellent analytical skills and possess the ability to communicate complex economic concepts to a wide range of other professions, then we’d like to hear from you. Your influencing skills will be key, as will your project management ability, and you should be adept at managing and prioritising your workload. Experience of transport appraisal and modelling would be an advantage.
