About the Job:
Symbiotics SA Information, Consulting & Services is looking for Financial Analyst. S/he will be responsible for developing and maintaining business relationships with portfolio companies, developing a pipeline of potential investments, traveling to and performing on site due diligence on these companies, analyzing credit risk, negotiating and closing investments with these companies, and monitoring all investments. The position could be based in Cape Town, Mexico or Singapore, and the analyst will be part of a two to six person team.

S/he will be responsible for developing and maintaining business relationships with portfolio companies, developing a pipeline of potential investments, traveling to and performing on site due diligence on these companies, analyzing credit risk, negotiating and closing investments with these companies, and monitoring all investments. The position could be based in Cape Town, Mexico or Singapore, and the analyst will be part of a two to six person team.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Conduct market research in several countries in the selected region;
- Develop a pipeline of credit worthy investment targets in specific markets;
- Visit and analyze targeted companies;
- Write credit appraisals and advisory reports;
- Negotiate investment proposals and originate deals;
- Maintain and monitor 10-15 portfolio companies, including monthly financial reporting;
- Support the analysis, design, and implementation of technical assistance projects;
- Support the development of additional fund concepts.
Qualifications:
- Dedicated to social and sustainable development;
- Previous experience in financial analysis and investment management;
- Knowledge of the microfinance industry;
- Working experience in the selected regions;
- Capacity to handle on-going multiple tasks on a daily basis;
- Willingness and readiness to travel (up to 40%).
