VOXBONE is currently looking for a Legal & Regulatory Officer to join its Legal & Regulatory Affairs Department based in Brussels.

Key Responsibilities

The Legal & Regulatory Officer is providing legal and regulatory advice to Voxbone’s business. She/he proposes the frame and action to allow compliance of Voxbone’s service with the applicable laws.

• Regulatory advice and compliance:
  • Analyse the regulatory framework in countries under responsibility, monitor and advise changes in the law that affect Voxbone’s activities, advise the management on regulatory conditions and risks;
  • Liaise with appropriate authorities in order to get relevant information;
  • Foster compliance with licensing conditions in existing countries; 
  • Advise about obligations associated with the usage of specific numbering resources; 
  • Support the entry of Voxbone in a new country and obtain the appropriate licenses.
• Data Protection:
  • Analyze privacy and data protection risks of Voxbone’s business at European and International level; 
  • Encourage compliance with data protection and privacy laws by developing internal processes;
  • Prepare and implement guidelines regarding data protection for Voxbone’s business 
  • Foster data retention compliance; 
  • Advise the team regarding data privacy/ protection issue.
• Intellectual Property: 
  • Support the Senior Patent Attorney in the applications for registration of trademarks, domain names, patents and any other intellectual property rights; 
  • Keep all registrations updated as the business or the coverage evolves;
  • Advise on new registrations or oppositions.
• Contractual support for iNum/ +888: 
  • Negotiate iNum commercial arrangements with customers, as well as service and interconnection agreements with carriers;
  • Draft or update standard terms and conditions, templates, and other types of agreements and legal documents
• Public policy: 
  • Follow-up lobbying activities of associations to which Voxbone is member; 
  • Participate and contribute to common positions and lobbying activities;
  • Contribute to position papers and consultations conducted by administrations.

Profile

• Bachelor or Master degree in Law;
• Minimum 2 years of experience preferably within the IT/Telecoms market;
• Focus in data privacy/protection law or telecommunication law during studies or via work experience - Knowledge in data protection and data privacy law;
• Experience in global or multicultural company is an asset;
• Basic understanding of telecommunication law - Interest in the Telecommunications industry;
• Computer literate;
• Fluent in English, any other languages is a plus;
• Ability to be persuasive and clear in writing and via the phone;
• Good analytical skills;
• Ability to grasp complex issues rapidly and accurately;
• Capacity to understand and explain new telecom technologies in order to trigger the evolution of the legal framework;
• Eye for details;
• Team player;
• Passionate – Reliable - Straightforward.
