Managing Director Saskatchewan Centre of Excellence for Transportation and Infrastructure College of Engineering

The Saskatchewan Centre of Excellence for Transportation and Infrastructure (SCETI) was established as a strategic partnership between the Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure, the University of Saskatchewan, and private industry involved in innovative infrastructure solutions. The primary mandate of SCETI is to provide world class transportation and infrastructure solutions that help Saskatchewan meet the increasing needs of an aging infrastructure. As well, it is intended that SCETI will become internationally renowned for developing innovative solutions in transportation engineering and construction and in transport logistics. In addition, SCETI scientists are involved in university teaching, graduate student supervision, and applied research.
The College of Engineering is seeking a Managing Director to provide leadership to the administration of SCETI’s research programs, and oversight of financial and physical resources as well as non-academic human resources. The Managing Director will work closely with and will actively be supported by the management committee comprised of the Dean (or designate), Head of the Department of Civil & Geological Engineering, and the College Chief Financial and Operational Officer. This position is expected to provide leadership to a variety of opportunities of strategic importance to SCETI, manage contracts, lead financial planning and management initiatives, and develop accountabilities and communications plan.
Ideally, the Managing Director will have a post-graduate degree in business administration (MBA) or a related specialty, a sound understanding of transportation technologies and infrastructure operations, knowledge of the transportation industry, and seven to ten years of progressive experience in a complex, multi-dimensional organization similar to SCETI.
