UK Export Finance Chief Executive

UK Export Finance (UKEF) requires an outstanding, highly experienced CEO who can provide vision, deliver results and act as an ambassador for the Department at a particularly exciting time in its development. The CEO will have overall responsibility for strategic direction and daily operations. UKEF provides insurance and bank guarantee products that assist in the complexities of risk exposure, helping UK corporates, including SMEs, to increase exports – a major component of the UK Government’s growth strategy and a key Prime Ministerial priority.
The Role: 
• Accountable to Parliament for UKEF’s operations, leading the relationship between UKEF, Ministers, officials in other Government Departments, and other key stakeholders.
• Leading on strategic policy, building on existing business, expanding the product range, and inspiring staff to deliver consistent and outstanding service.
• Negotiating the environment in which UKEF operates, and leading it while adopting a flexible business model to reflect a quickly changing market environment.  

The Candidate:
• An outstanding leader with the analytical, judgement and communication skills, combined with the personality and presence to influence, negotiate and persuade at the highest levels. The ability to build successful relationships with stakeholders.
• Senior level experience in the financial services sector or in a major corporation with substantial exposure to international finance, and the capability for setting strategic vision for the Department.
• An understanding of the international economic, financial and trading scene, and the ability to understand credit risk arising from complex financial and commercial transactions with political implications.
