RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Plans, lays outs, draws, and revises detailed part, assembly, and installation engineering drawings from basic layouts, established references, and standard data in a field of specialization such as structures, devices, mechanics, electrical, or electronics.  Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as, CAD, CAM or CATIA.  Completes details of major layout drawings prepared by others in accordance with standard engineering drafting practices.  Determines scaling; inserts necessary reference planes, centering and dimension lines, hidden line interpolations, and sectioning; prepares specifications for parts, assemblies, and installations; prepares complete production detail drawings; contributes design modifications to improve quality of product or facilitate manufacturing operations.
 
Duties include (but are not limited to):
  • Plans, lays outs, draws, and revises detailed part, assembly, and installation engineering drawings from basic layouts, established references, and standard data for mechanical, electrical, and electronic devices. 
  • Utilizes SolidWorks computer-aided design (CAD) software and/or other CAD/graphic tools to produce 3D/2D models and drawing packages. 
  • Completes details of major layout drawings prepared by others in accordance with standard engineering drafting practices. 
  • The incumbent will be required to use measurement tools to create hand models and verify the accuracy of those models.
MINIMUM TANGIBLE QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 2+ years professional experience is required. 
  • Associate of Arts/Science degree preferred but not required. Professional SolidWorks certification desired.
  • Must have demonstrated experience with SolidWorks software and drawing management tools.  
  • Applicants selected for this position will require an interim secret clearance and background screening. 
  • Applicants selected for a security clearance will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirement for access to classified information.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience with CF Design and/or Solidworks Flow Simulation.
