Senior Research Officer, Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative
Applicants are invited for the Senior Research Officer post within the Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative (OPHI), an economic research centre in the Department of International Development at the University of Oxford.
The postholder will have primary responsibility for certain areas of OPHI’s research, to be determined by mutual agreement, and will oversee OPHI’s impact programme, supporting the research staff to deliver agreed strategic products. The Senior Research Officer will also play a central role in OPHI’s leadership, policy outreach, and operational management.
The successful candidate will have a doctorate in economics, development economics or a relevant social science with extensive research experience relevant to multidimensional poverty in developing countries. He or she must have a willingness to adopt a strategic outlook, maintain strong relationships with colleagues, research users, and donors, and undertake some periods of overseas travel. Candidates must also have relevant research management experience, excellent interpersonal skills, and a strongly collaborative approach to work.
