Founded in 2000 by two former journalists from The Economist, WordAppeal has grown rapidly. It is a major player in its sector, with 2012 revenue totaling €10.3 million. Today, the company employs 59 consultants from seven different countries.
What are we looking for?
WordAppeal is seeking a razor-sharp, dedicated, and creative professional who knows exactly what’s at stake when communicating in a 2.0 world. As our full-time Digital Project Director, he or she will be able to write or act as editor-in-chief on a large range of English-language communication materials – websites, magazines, CEO speeches, product descriptions, intranets, blogs and tweets. He or she is responsible for delivering original content designed to engage target audiences across the globe. An editorial star and digital strategy genius, the successful candidate will be a part of WordAppeal’s management team.
Specific duties include:
- Consulting: benchmarking; analytics; audience profiling; user personas; strategies for digital, print and social experiences; content strategies; e-PR; SEO/SEM.
- Production: ensuring that deliverables meet WordAppeal standards of quality, design, effectiveness and value
- Project management: liaising with customers; running project meetings; coordinating writers, translators, web agencies and graphic teams.
- Business development: development of existing and new customer accounts; working with sales teams to uncover opportunities for increased work with clients; development of trusted client relationships; pitching new ideas/opportunities that lead to new client engagements.
Required experience, skills, and qualities:
- min. 4-5 years previous experience managing multiple concurrent projects of significant complexity, including 2 years in an agency or consulting firm working for Fortune 500 companies, with strong references in overseeing corporate publications,
- the proven ability to manage and motivate a diverse team of project managers, writers, artistic directors and web developers,
- excellent writing skills,
- exceptional attention to detail,
- outside-the-box problem-solving capabilities,
- ability to perform well under tight deadlines,
- demonstrated passion for online technology and desire to remain up to date on the latest trends and innovations,
- strong presentation skills,
- a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent,
- fluency in French.

Although the job is based in Paris, you may be asked to make business trips within Europe and to the US.

Salary
Commensurate with the candidate’s experience. Salary + bonus.
