Salary range: £31,644 - £36,661 per annum

Full time, fixed term position for 12 months
The Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) is an internationally recognised centre of excellence for research in tropical diseases. Through the creation of effective links with governments, organisations and institutions and by responding to the health needs of communities, LSTM aims to promote improved health, particularly for people of the less developed / resource poorest countries in the tropics and sub-tropics.
To meet the challenges of providing high quality support for our students, we are looking to appoint a Library System Project Manager to support the Head of Information Services in the implementation of a new Library Management System (LMS) and associated processes in LSTM. You will be responsible for liaising with the system vendor, arranging for the import of legacy data, setting up system parameters, checking imported data and updating and improving records to within clearly defined standards.
It is essential that you are a qualified librarian with either a first degree or a post-graduate qualification in Library and Information Science and be able to evidence a commitment to continued professional development and acquisition of new skills and knowledge. Considerable experience of library management systems in an HE or specialist library setting is essential as is previous involvement in the implementation of a library management system.
The post will require the following skills and experience:-
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong administrative, organisational and time management skills with proven success of delivering results
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Skilled in the use of MS Project Software and MARC 21 cataloguing standards
  • Excellent attention to detail
