Environmental Engineer II
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities include: The successful candidate will provide support in environmental regulatory compliance, including audits, inspections, reporting, and performance under Bald Mountain Mine’s Environmental Management System (EMS). Duties include legal obligations register management, ISO 14001/EMS support, permit database management, completion of document/reports for permit compliance, delivery of environmental awareness training for site personnel and contractors, and completion of permitting activities (as assigned). Additional duties may include environmental field work (where necessary), oversight of contractors/consultants, and management of special projects. The successful candidate will cooperate and contribute to the overall success of the Site and will also provide support to other sites and the company as needed; perform other duties as assigned.
SELECTION CRITERIA
BASIC REQUIREMENTS: To be considered for this job, applicants must meet these basic requirements:
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental, Civil, Mining, Chemical Engineering or related degree required
• Two (2) years experience in a mining or related field preferred
• Experience in Nevada environmental programs including air quality, water quality, geochemistry, hydrology, reclamation, and cultural resources preferred
• Proficiency in Livelink and RIMS preferred
• Experience with ISO 14001:2004-conformant Environmental Management Systems preferred
• Ability to influence others and work within a team environment required
• Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously required
• Strong computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required
• Ability to drive results and meet deadlines with quality work products required
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills required
• Ability to perform the essential function of this position required
