Electrician - Fixed Plant

Barrick Kanowna has a strong presence in the Eastern-Goldfields of Western Australia centred around the city of Kalgoorlie-Boulder.  The Kanowna operation processes 2 million tonnes of refractory and free milling ore per annum from three underground mines in the region.  It has significant exploration lease holdings and is one of the largest employers in the area.

This is a residential role based in Kalgoorlie

POSITION

Reporting to the Electrical Team Leader, the Electrician - Fixed Plant, ensures that all scheduled and unscheduled electrical maintenance activities for the high voltage power supply services at Barrick are properly planned and executed in a safe and efficient manner and in compliance with all statutory and Barrick Standard requirements. Duties and responsibilities for this role include;

• Planned maintenance and services, including breakdown maintenance and inspections
• Assist with training and knowledge transfer of Electrical apprentices
• Recording of all electrical repairs, test results, incidents, maintenance, installations and inspections

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
To be successful in this role you should possess the following skills and experience;

• Electrical Mechanic Trade Certificate & WA “A” Grade Electrical Workers Licence, or ability to obtain
• Instrumentation and PLC/DCS knowledge would be advantageous
• At least 2 years post trade experience in the mining/industrial processing control industry
• Ability to read plans and drawings
• Excellent written verbal and communication skills
