Boilermaker/ Welder - Mobile Maintenance
Cowal Gold Mine is currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Boilermaker/ Welder on a Full Time basis to assist within the Mobile Maintenance team.
As a Boilermaker/ Welder your responsibilities will include the timely and accurate servicing of mining plant equipment, breakdowns and preventative maintenance.
Reporting to the Shift Leading Hand, this position works 12 hour shifts on a 4 on 4 off continuous roster.
Principal duties will include:
- Mechanical / Welding maintenance to mining equipment.
- Assisting other mobile maintenance staff as and when required
- General housekeeping of the work area
- Ensuring quality of information in CMMS (Oracle) database by providing accurate history, job time, hours worked and provide feedback to those who require the information
- Ensuring that all maintenance work is carried out in a safe and environmentally sound manner.
- Promoting a continuous improvement and safety approach in all areas.
The successful applicant will have the following:
- Exposure to mining equipment maintenance is desirable,
- Knowledge of welding & metal fabrication on heavy mining equipment within an open cut mining operation
- Caterpillar and Liebherr experience is desirable
- Trade certificate and relevant industry experience
- Ability to work shift work is a must
- Excellent communication skills, an innovative approach to problem solving and the ability to show initiative are essential
- A strong focus on safety and the ability to contribute as part of a team are required to be successful in this role
