Strategic business development partner, International department

Do you have the passion, leadership and vision to build Christian Aid’s strategic OD and HR capacity to fulfil our goal to eradicate poverty? Do you have the high level organisational development and HR expertise to lead and develop large scale corporate initiatives that build organisational capability and drive change? Can you build effective partnerships with directors and senior managers?
As Strategic Business Development Partner for our International Department, you will work closely with its director and his senior management team to strengthen the department’s ability to achieve its plans and objectives in support of Christian Aid’s strategy Partnership for Change. In partnership with them, you will support the building of business capability across all of our international programme operations in the 46 countries in which we work.
Reporting to the Director of Strategy and People Management, you will lead on corporate projects and give advice on strategic risks, offering high quality solutions which realise improved performance. You will equip managers with the skills, knowledge and values to motivate, align and focus the work of their staff. You will ensure that people resources are organised, allocated and managed in an efficient way and help to develop systems and processes that meet the changing needs of a diverse organisation.
You will manage and co-ordinate the work of business development consultants as well as external consultants in the delivery of specialised consultancy interventions.
You will have a degree level qualification in and HR or OD related field, together with extensive knowledge and senior level experience in the field of people and organisational development, effectiveness and performance improvement across a range of business functions.
You will be able to demonstrate evidence of effective strategic partnering at Directorate level with experience of reporting to Board committees, as well as the passion to motivate senior managers and their teams. You will have a track record in directing and managing corporate change projects, leading large scale initiatives which have led to improved corporate level efficiency and effectiveness.
You will have the analytical skills to evaluate current and future systems and process capabilities and the learning needs of people at a strategic level. Experience of working in the charitable sector is desirable, but not essential.
