The Centre for Maternal and Newborn Health (CMNH) at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine offers unique expertise in using the rigorous discipline of research to inform teaching and technical assistance programmes to improve the health of mothers and babies globally. As a leading, global centre of excellence for maternal and newborn health we aim to:
- Improve the availability and quality of healthcare for mothers and babies
- Contribute to a global reduction in maternal and new born mortality and morbidity and improvement in quality of life
Due to the recognised success and impact of our work we are now looking to recruit Senior Research Associates (Midwifery) to join our internationally recognised team to work with the Head of the CMNH to lead, develop and deliver research, teaching and technical assistance in Maternal and Newborn Health internationally.
The post holder will focus on providing support to the delivery and evaluation of complex interventions to improve Maternal and Newborn Health globally which include; skilled birth attendance, emergency obstetric and newborn care and quality of care. It is essential that you have proven experience of clinical fieldwork in a developing country setting with evidence of high quality assessment standards.
You will possess a Midwifery/Nursing qualification with clinical experience along with a Masters level degree in Public Health or another relevant field. Knowledge of both qualitative and quantative research methodology and analytical approach is essential, including a working knowledge of evidence based interventions i that improve global Maternal Newborn Health outcomes.
The post will involve overseas travel.
