Monitoring, Evaluation, Technical Assistance and Research Unit (METRe)
Fixed Term for 12 months
LSTM is an internationally recognised centre of excellence for research in global health. Through the creation of effective links with governments, organisations and institutions and by responding to the health needs of communities, LSTM aims to promote improved health, particularly for people of the less developed / resource poorest countries in the tropics and sub-tropics.
The METRe Unit provides technical assistance and builds capacity in low resource countries on how to effectively collect, analyse and use quality data to guide decision making for health programmes and policies. It also carries out cutting edge research on health systems, M&E and global health. This post will undertake the development and standardisation of health facility assessments, survey tools, protocols, training materials and guidelines, and the analysis of data.
The Monitoring, Evaluation & Research Co-ordinator will also participate in new business development, manage the implementation of designated METRe group research and M&E projects and contribute to METRe publications and academic teaching. It will be necessary that you have experience of working in developing countries in the health sector or development projects as in addition to delivering technical assistance, you will also oversee the performance of consultants, produce and quality assure technical reports.
Along with a Masters level qualification related to the role, it is essential that you have proven experience of working on project data and have experience of survey methodologies at a field level, preferably LQAS. As this is a demanding role, you must have exceptional organisational skills and be a self-starter, ready to accept responsibility. You must also be willing to travel internationally in the role.
