Investment Officer Syndications and Sales, The Hague

FMO set itself the audacious goal to become the leading impact investor by 2020. In order to double our impact we strive to attract other parties in our transactions. We leverage our own funding with funding from co-investors such as commercial banks, asset managers and other development finance institutions (DFIs). The Syndications and Sales team plays a key role in this respect as it is responsible for all loan syndications and DFI club deals.
We are currently looking for an experienced Investment Officer Syndication and Sales. He or she reports to the Director Financial Markets. The Financial Markets department consists of nine employees in the areas of Treasury Front Office and Syndication and Sales (four persons). In addition FMO has an agency desk, which is part of the mid-office.

Your role
Key Responsibilities
  • Executing syndicated loan transactions and club deals with DFIs: Structuring, negotiating and leading the syndication process;
  • Loan distribution:Proactively sourcing new participants;
  • Business development: Working closely with FMO's sector teams and commercial/investment banks to acquire mandates for syndicated loan transactions;
  • Relationship management: Maintaining the existing network and building new networks of banks and other investors;
  • Market intelligence: Providing market updates and pricing advices to the organization;
  • Product offering: Further professionalizing FMO's syndications services.

Personality and Required skills
Education
Master degree.
Experience
At least 7 year experience in corporate/investment banking with a few years of experience in syndicated loan markets or relevant sector expertise;
Extensive network in the syndicated loan market would be a prerequisite.

  • Networker with a commercial attitude;
  • All round and hands-on;
  • Excellent communication, convincing and negotiating skills;
  • Fluent in English, ideally also proficient in Spanish.
