Support Planning Engineer

Job Purpose The Ops Support Planning Engineer is responsible to ensure all maintenance activities are planned within the given time frames as defined by the approved AMP or any other approved publications for their designated fleet. Responsibilities Ensure that all maintenance checks are performed as per the company approved Aircraft Maintenance Schedule and any other relevant documentation. Ensure that maximum attention is given to company On Time Performance program. Maintain oversight and plan as required Deferred Defect Status of EY fleet including MEL’s, Operational Significant Defects and Passenger comfort defects, all these defects to be reviewed every shift. Support the Maintenance Duty Planning Engineer in their role to ensure a smooth operation at all times and adhere to task list in the structured working day, ie maintain Flight Workbench, review Alert report and distribute, ensure minimum visits open, categorize planned maintenance and support capacity planning. Ensure the Aircraft Systems and Cabin is maintained to the highest standard as required to achieve Etihad’s goal to be the best Airline in the World. Ensure all tasks allocated in the structured working day are performed during the shift and the handover sheet is maintained to support clarity and status. Attend brief/ debrief of Line Maintenance handovers and action as appropriate. Involvement in investigations for Quality Lapses and support remedies in accordance with company procedures. Perform other duties that may be assigned to them by the Duty Maintenance Planner or Manager OMPC. Requirements Qualification & Education: Hold a technical academic degree or diploma in aeronautical engineering or hold an ICAO type I or type II license and a minimum 3years experience in a similar role Experience: A minimum of 3 years experience within in a similar role. Proven track record of success in delivering results. Excellent all-round Planning and Operational and Crisis management skills Training & Knowledge: Formal technical training (Gen fam course is acceptable) on Etihad aircraft types.  Excellent Crisis / Time management Excellent knowledge of engineering standards appropriate for an International airline Excellent knowledge of Aviation regulations (e.g. JAA, EASA, FAA and/or UAE GCAA) High standard of English language High standard of computer literacy (Microsoft Office applications) Excellent Interpersonal and communication skills Excellent people skills and ability to expedite tasks in a firm and diplomatic manner, being able to exercise appropriate discretion/manage commercially sensitive data
