INTERNATIONAL TRUSTEES , HIV/AIDS Alliance

The International HIV/AIDS Alliance works with communities through local, national and global action on HIV, health and human rights. Our vision is a world without AIDS.  Since 1994, the Alliance and its partners have supported over 3,000 projects, in over 40 countries, reaching millions of people.

We are recruiting trustees for our UK-based charity, which serves as the international secretariat, to lead the Alliance through its ambitious programme to help curb the epidemic and ensure universal access to comprehensive HIV services.
We are looking for individuals with an interest in international development issues and HIV/AIDS and a strong belief in the values of the Alliance, especially in supporting communities and local NGOs in developing countries to build their capacity and skills to ensure sustainable development. Individuals do not need to be based in the UK to be considered.
We are specifically seeking:
  1. Individuals with experience of broadening the resource base of an NGO beyond overseas development assistance, who possess civil society leadership skills and experience of community responses and systems;
  2. Individuals with high level governance or management experience in the private sector with a marketing / communications background.
Good communication skills in English and extensive experience of living and working in Asia and/or Latin America and the Caribbean are also essential. Personal experience of the impact of HIV/AIDS is desirable.
These are unpaid appointments, but expenses to twice-yearly Board meetings in Brighton (UK) and in developing countries will be reimbursed. Trustees are appointed for an initial term of three years, but may be re-appointed for two further terms.
How to apply:
To apply, please send your CV and covering letter to recruitment@aidsalliance.org

The International HIV/AIDS Alliance is committed to equal opportunities and welcomes applications from appropriately qualified people from all sections of the community.
