The Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) is an internationally recognised centre of excellence for research in tropical diseases.  Through the creation of effective links with governments, organisations and institutions and by responding to the health needs of communities, LSTM aims to promote improved health, particularly for people of the less developed / resource poorest countries in the tropics and sub-tropics.
LSTM is one of the few academic organisations with expertise in the science of evaluating the effectiveness and impact of Capacity Strengthening. The post holder will be responsible for identifying appropriate business opportunities, and for developing and writing high quality academic and commercial proposals and for coordinating proposals and work across and beyond the Capacity Strengthening Unit (CRU). In addition to coordinating the bid process the post also involves coordinating programmes and projects once they have been awarded and ensuring they are delivered to a high standard, on time and within budget
You will be educated to Masters Degree level (or equivalent) and be able to demonstrate continued professional development.  Relevant experience of working with research partners in low and middle income countries is essential along with experience of supporting the development and design of research and Technical Assistance bids.  It is also necessary that you have experience of working with a range of systems and methods for systematic data/ information collection.
With well developed time management and organisational skills, you will have the capability to work independently as well as a team member and develop effective working relationships with colleagues and partners in a multicultural environment.   Excellent working knowledge of MS Office applications is crucial for the role, particularly in spreadsheets.
