Diageo’s Malt Distilling and Maturation arm of the business is responsible for the production of our Scotch Whisky and is part of the Diageo International Supply Centre which as a whole is made up of over 50 sites across Europe, employs over 5000 people and supplies over 180 markets globally.

The Diageo Apprentice:

To be a great Apprentice and hack the pace you’ll need to be highly practical, a great problem solver and interested in how things move and work. In addition you will be an enthusiastic learner willing to grow and develop throughout a 4 year Apprenticeship and have a desire to take on more responsibility as your career develops.

Not only will you successfully manage to gain valuable work experience, but you’ll also learn both practical skills and theory at a local college and achieve industry standard qualifications and have the opportunity to become ‘Time Served’ and continue to a long and prosperous career with a global innovative and fast moving organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
 
  • To achieve the required standard of technical knowledge and ability to become a competent Mechanical Engineer.
  • To demonstrate a full understanding of the site processes.
  • To diligently work towards gaining a Mechanical Engineering NVQ/SVQ at Level 3, as issued by an approved body.
  • To achieve a Higher National Certificate.
  • Adhere to Diageo Health and Safety & Compliance Policies
  • Always uphold Diageo Vision and Values.

Skills & Qualifications required:
 
  • Five Standard Grades at Level 3 or above. These must include Mathematics, English and one Technical or Science subject
  • Demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to work as a team member
  • Demonstrate good manual dexterity with attention to detail
  • Basic PC skills
