Communications Director, Bureau of External Relations and Advocacy

The Bureau of External Relations and Advocacy (BERA) is responsible for UNDP’s external relations and advocacy functions. The Bureau leads and supports the organization in cultivating, building and nurturing strategic relationships and alliances that are essential for advancing and successfully achieving the mission of UNDP.
UNDP is recruiting for the Communications Director in BERA. The Communications Director leads the UNDP Communications Group and is responsible for developing and leading UNDP’s global communications strategy and related policies aligned with corporate priorities. He/she helps shape and promote UNDP’s corporate branding, and messaging and advises the Administrator, other UNDP senior managers, and the Director and Deputy Director of BERA on high-level advocacy, external relations, multimedia products, and reputation risk management, providing leadership to all UNDP organizational units, including regional hubs and country offices.
UNDP is seeking candidates with a minimum of 15 years of experience in communications leadership and management working at national and international levels preferably with knowledge/experience in the field of development.
