The opportunity
We are looking for a Business Improvement Specialist to identify and execute business improvement projects, coach green belts and consult strategically on the mine planning process.

Located 95km north-west of Newman, Yandicoogina offers a range of fly in fly out rosters. As Australia's largest producing iron ore mine, it generates more than 50 million tonnes of Hamersley Iron Yandi (HIY) fines each year.

What the role entails
This role is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic and highly ambitious individual with the ability to engage leaders and take ownership of projects. Working on a fly in fly out roster (9 days on and 5 days off) and reporting to Superintendent Business Improvement and Training, you will be: 
  • Coaching project sponsors including superintendents and managers to provide adequate support to Green Belts
  • Identifying and executing high value projects within a Lean or Six Sigma framework
  • Getting involved with site strategy or planning process
  • Attending information centres, internal team meetings and planning sessions
  • Coaching Green Belts
  • Getting involved in Six Sigma projects as well as in specialist projects as required 
What you will need for this role 
To succeed in this exciting and challenging role, you will have:
  • A manual “C” class driver’s licence
  • A Six Sigma Black Belt certification
  • Experience in Lean or as a Six Sigma Black Belt 
A degree in Business or a similar discipline will be highly regarded. Experience in alternate project management methodology like Prince2 will be desirable.
