Head, Supply Chain Management
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Head, Supply Chain Management will oversee a team of approximately 30 staff; will provide vision, people leadership, strategic direction, and guidance on all sourcing activities and engage with different Stakeholders; contribute to the success of icddr,b through the delivery and implementation of sourcing strategies across all categories of supplier spend, and the management of inventory held in the warehouse. These categories include operating and capital expenditure on all areas covering Infrastructure, Technology, Business Services, Laboratory and Medical Research and Hospital Supplies spend.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in business or operations; preferably MBA. The Head must have Certification with a recognised International Purchasing and Supply body and at least 10 years of progressive experience and responsibilities working in similar industry.  Have proven proficiency in managing major spend categories; track record of contributing to the continuous improvement of procurement and category management programs; leadership experience in managing teams and key stakeholders in a similar environment; contract management skills including a strong understanding of business and legal terms and conditions; have ability to determine requirements and deliver strategy.
icddr,b offers an internationally competitive remuneration package paid in U.S. dollars. This is a project position and the initial contract appointment is for three years.
