Due to a year of significant success in 2013/14, the number of projects under our management has increased substantially. Additional expertise is required throughout the business, including within our Commercial Management Group (CMG).
Position Summary
The Senior Finance Analyst (SFA) will make strategic contributions to the CMG team and be responsible for guiding the development of effective financial proposals and results for large and complex international projects.
For awarded projects, the SFA will translate proposals into business systems and reporting tools that ensure client objectives are fulfilled and the financial performance targets achieved. In addition to project budget development, tracking, and reporting; the SFA will provide strategic advice to Project Directors/Managers and must have the capacity to bridge project technical approaches with consequent costs and rates of return.
Key Responsibilities
§ Work effectively with the Project Accounting Team to account system, reports, and transactional data to project management, reporting, and value tracking needs.
§ Provide monthly financial assessments to the Business Unit leaders, develop financial forecasts and budgets, and set financial strategy (cost structure, value presentation, key financial performance indicators).
§ Analysis of project financial performance and key indicators across the Business Unit portfolio of projects.
§ Application of “value for money” principals into initial project pricing and on-going budget realignments.
§ Support the financial negotiation of contracts and change orders including the documentation of value propositions.
§ Ensure financial compliance with government contracting regulations and maintain awareness of changes in obligations and markets shifts in financial assessment.
§ Architect the financial systems job setup function and on-going project maintenance with the project team to ensure “value for money” tracking objectives can be met and that cost are effectively reported against results and objectives.
§ Build capacity and collaboratively work with technical staff on project budgeting/forecasting.
§ Coordinate closely with other CMG teams to maximize utilization of resources and build global best practices.
§ Work with the project teams to develop partner invoices to be able to track partner budgets and reporting requirements.
§ International Travel will be required.

Requirements
§ Degree in Financial Management, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, or related field. Advanced degree preferred
§ 8+ years of experience in project and business financial planning/management for professional services organizations
§ Understanding of international development sector and/or government contract services.
§ Advanced ability in developing project financial models, budgeting, and forecasting tools.
§ In-depth understanding of project accounting and linkages to project management
§ Demonstrated ability to convey financial concepts to non-financial managers (training, coaching, tool development)
§ Business financial planning support and reporting.
§ Familiarity with government contracting rules and regulations preferred.
