The Organisation

QGC is a leading Australian coal seam gas explorer and producer focused on supplying cleaner hydrocarbon energy to growing domestic and international markets. 

We are establishing Queensland Curtis LNG, a world-first project to turn reserves of natural coal seam gas in the Surat and Bowen basins in Queensland into liquefied natural gas (LNG) – a carbon efficient fuel. 

QGC, which is wholly owned by the British energy company BG Group, employs more than 4,300 staff and contractors. 

Position Summary

The CMMS Specialist assists the Superintendent to ensure that the CMMS is populated with all necessary data to enable the maintenance function to manage asset integrity and reliability of the LNG Plant.

The position will assist in delivering a reliable, well maintained and efficient plant.

Key Accountabilities

Position Specific

Pre-Ops Phase
• Work with the Operations and Maintenance Teams to ensure that all required plant maintenance tasks are correctly loaded into MAXIMO. Champion the implementation of MAXIMO and the Global Work Management System for QCLNG.
• Prepare maintenance performance reporting framework in MAXIMO to support best in class maintenance execution.
• Control a change management system for MAXIMO to control any changes to master data.
• Identify, prepare and deliver MAXIMO training to ensure a high level of competency across the site prior to first gas.

Ops Phase• Maintains MAXIMO functionality to ensure the system supports the work management system needs of the Operations and Maintenance teams.
• Maintains accuracy of data in MAXIMO Work Management System.
• Focal point for any changes required to MAXIMO master data.
• Maintains KPI and reporting functionality of MAXIMO.
• Own the computerised maintenance management system MAXIMO.
• Continually improve MAXIMO to ensure the contents are accurate. Position owns the MAXIMO data quality.
• Recommend improvements in maintenance processes in QGC’s present operations and future developments.

People Management• Manage contractors to make changes to MAXIMO.
• Identify, prepare and deliver MAXIMO training to ensure a high level of competency across the site. 
• The incumbent must adhere to the annual HR cycle and meet deadlines within the appropriate timeframes.

Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute

Experience• Previous CMMS Administrator type role.
• MAXIMO experience is desirable but not essential.
• Experience with CMMS change control systems and procedures.
• In depth knowledge and experience of CMMS systems.
• Experience of documentation control systems.
• Experience in working with contract staff.
• Experience in management of multi skilled technical staff and contractors.
• Experience with, and commitment to, maintenance systems, procedures & quality assurance.

Knowledge, Languages, Skills and Attributes
• Significant experience in the management of a Computerised Maintenance Management System for an industrial process.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Ability to resolve issues with third parties and contractors.
• High level interpersonal skills.
• High level computing skills in using Microsoft Office.
• High level of analytical and problem solving skills.
• Initiative and capacity to exercise good judgment, strong management and supervisory skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with project staff to provide a maintenance service that ensures Asset Integrity and longevity of Plant & Equipment.
• Excellent time management skills.

Special Features
• This role is based on Curtis Island with a daily commute to and from the mainland.
