Fluid Mechanical Specialist

You will join the Fluid Mechanics department in Bjerringbro, which is part of the Grundfos Research and Technology organisation. We deliver fluid mechanic designs for water treatment, multi-phase analysis and tools for predictable pump design.

Here, you will be part of a competent team of 4 specialised engineers, who each have their area of expertise. You report to Fluid Mechanical Manager, Christian Rasmussen, who has been with Grundfos for 14 years and has a background within fluid mechanics. Thus, you get to be a fluid mechanics specialist in a group of equals and achieve great experiences in new technologies and also have the opportunity to apply your own solutions directly into business models.

”You will join a small team in which we discuss ideas by being “open & trustworthy” and are not afraid to come up with solutions that are innovative and need fine-tuning. Thus, sparring and giving feedback is essential for us” Christian says.

Improving Water Treatment Technologies
Your primary focus will be on applying fluid mechanics, improving the competitiveness of water treatment technologies and hydraulic components. You do so by managing projects from project description over scope to completion - where you provide analysis, recommendations and reviews and are responsible for all deliveries. On other occasions, you work on project development where you contribute with expert knowledge. To a smaller extent you will be involved in design and simulation.

The main challenge will be to combine your deep technical insight with business acumen: “Complexity increases when you not only have to find the technical solution but also make sure it works in a business model. Working with stakeholders doing business development, it is important to apply your business acumen” Christian says.

Fluid Mechanics Specialist
You hold an MSc or Ph.D. in engineering specialised in fluid mechanics and have +3 years’ of experience in fluid mechanics design. Further, you have experience in CFD simulation. It is an advantage if you have a PhD degree, experience with ANSYS CFX and/or Open Foam Multi-phase and Multi-physics simulations. You speak and write English at a high level, and it is beneficial if you know Danish.

You challenge solutions in a constructive way when making designs, and you are systematic in your approach to problem solving. Since you run some projects yourself, it is important that you are self-driven. Further, you have to be extrovert as you will be part of a team where sparring and communication is of utmost importance” Christian explains.
