Legal Officer
Petroleum Importation Coordinator Limited (PICL) is a non- profit limited company with no share capital guaranteed by Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs). It was established by the Petroleum (Bulk Procurement) Regulations, GN No. 164 of 2011 as amended by GN No. 59 of 2013, under The Petroleum Act, CAP 392. Its main role is to coordinate the importation of petroleum products in the country.
PICL is now looking for services of energetic and committed persons to fill up the following positions:
LEGAL OFFICER
Shall report to the Legal and Administration Manager
Job Profile
To work on all legal correspondences addressed to the Company,
To prepare legal briefs and provide legal advice on matters related to bulk procurement of petroleum products and human resources,
To assess adequacy of the existing legal framework within which PICl operates and advising the management on appropriate actions,
To liaise with external legal agencies,
To assist in PICl Board matters,
To support on safekeeping of legal documents,
To carry out all other responsibilities as shall be assigned by the Management
Personal Profile
A Minimum of university degree or equivalent professional training level in Law from accredited Institution,
Multi-tasking, resourceful and proactive with sense of urgency,
Excellent communication (writing and oral) skills, reporting and presentation skills - both in English and Kiswahili,
Strong analytical, negotiation and drafting skills,
At least one (1) year experience in legal practice,
Registration as practicing Advocate will be an added advantage
