MWH International Development, based in La Hulpe, is the MWH unit that provides consulting services to international institutions, such as the European Commission (EC), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the European Investment Bank (EIB) and EU bilateral donors such DFID. Our services include design, procurement and construction supervision for water and wastewater, energy and climate change projects as well as management support, monitoring and evaluation of large investment programmes. Our main geographical focus lies on Europe, Africa and other developing countries.

Your role

You will join the expanding international development team and take responsibility to identify suitable candidates for EU project opportunities. You will work closely with Project Managers and Business Developers to identify the expert’s needs. You will ideally have specific experiences and track record in recruitment in one of the strategic sector of MWH (environment, climate, water and energy) but any other specific sector expertise will be a value added (e.g. governance). A specific experience in recruitment for EU technical assistance projects would be ideal. Experience working on framework contracts COM or Beneficiary will be relevant.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the expert recruitment of a portfolio of EC funded projects;
  • Identify key experts and short term experts for projects in developing countries;
  • Take responsibility in building a network of trust experts and associates;
  • Drafting of contracts for experts.

Requirements

  • Ideally academic background: university degree (or equivalent);
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar recruitment functions;
  • Good knowledge of the European Commission external aid market and procurement procedures;
  • A good network of experts in least one of the following sectors: energy, climate change, environment, water or good governance;
  • Excellent communication skills (phone, email etc.);
  • Excellent understanding of the use of social media for recruitment;
  • Commercial judgment and financial management expertise (salary negotiations, etc.);
  • IT-skills: advanced use of MS Office, particularly Excel;
  • Rigorous, accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Creative, communicative, open-minded and results-oriented;
  • Languages: solid written and spoken English and ideally French;
  • Work ethics, dynamism and ability to cope with multiple tasks and stressful situations.
This position will take place in our office in La Hulpe, Belgium and will start the soonest possible.
