A rare opportunity to provide leadership on the key issues that affect South Australia’s future prosperity.
The Chief Economist will lead several teams, focused on economic policy, economic strategy and the low carbon economy, with the aim of maximising economic development opportunities for South Australia and transitioning the State's economy.
They will drive the 10 Economic Priorities and develop strategies to optimise economic growth, including leveraging South Australia's strengths and enhancing its competitive advantages.
They will provide high level strategic advice to Cabinet, the Premier, the Treasurer, Chief Executives and other Senior Executives across government on the state of the South Australian economy and ways to effectively transition to new industries, including the further expansion of renewable energy and other low carbon and clean technology industries.
The successful candidate will have a strong economic analysis and strategy background, with commercial experience and, ideally, an understanding of data analytics, energy markets and the renewable energy sector. They will have a proven ability to lead development and implementation of policy reforms, as well as demonstrated success in forging successful collaborations and meeting the needs of a range of stakeholders, both within and outside government.
