Engineering Project Specialist

Key Performance Areas
As an Engineering Project Specialist, you will be responsible for producing advanced CAM programs for 3/4/5-axis and multi-task machine tools, while applying the latest machining techniques. You will also work across multifunctional teams to support sales growth in the SAA, and collaborate with machine operators to ensure optimal machining capabilities. Working directly with customers, you will prove-out specified processes and programs.
This position also will require you to develop new process capabilities as well as new machining and manufacturing techniques specific to Sandvik Coromant tooling.
Additionally, you will:
  • Produce CAM programs for all levels of machines including, but not limited to, 3/4/5-axis machining centers, turn-mill centers, lathes and milling machines.
  • Produce machine simulations and become proficient using other software packages for presentations, projects and training.
  • Prepare presentation materials and execute presentations for internal and external training purposes.
  • Define machining processes, tooling and parameters for components of all industry segments.
  • Support Gear Milling and Spline Machining operations, as well as the InvoMilling tool.
This is a field based position, location flexible, within the US.
Your Profile
Besides possessing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering or technical degree, you have a minimum of 3 years process engineering experience in working with metal removal tooling. You possess excellent communication and presentation skills, and are highly organized. You also have a good understanding of various machining techniques including milling, turning and drilling, as well as machine tool capabilities. MasterCam, Esprit or Unigraphics (NX) software experience is preferred, but other packages will be considered.
