Sales Engineer – North West Region

We currently have an opportunity for a Sales Engineer who will take responsibility for developing relationships, sales and profit performance with current and new customers in our North West Region. There are two other Sales Engineers in this region with one Application Engineer. The successful candidate will need to be able to get to Manchester and Liverpool areas.
Job Summary
As a Sales Engineer you will maintain and develop market share growth by implementing sales strategy action plans to achieve key sales and profit targets. You will develop new buying customers through various sales channels - direct and distribution. You will ensure new products are introduced into the marketplace rapidly without delay and retain and update knowledge regarding competitor strategy. You will continue to take market share while maintaining price leadership and profit improvement. You will provide the facility for information and idea flow upwards through the organisation and deliver and document customer value and savings.
There will be lots of travel in the North West region, with some possible overnight stays.
Your profile
You will have an engineering background/qualification with knowledge of both the theory and practical application of cutting tools and modern metal cutting machining practices. You will be pro-active, organised, self-motivated and able to identify, drive and develop new business opportunities. You will need previous experience and knowledge of sales, managing relationships, communicating and negotiating with customers. A thorough understanding of Sandvik Coromant business concepts (PIP, Selling Higher, CVF and Manufacturing Economics) and experience in technical sales, with metal cutting and application knowledge would be advantageous, but product knowledge will be provided if required.
