The successful candidate will support Canadian small to medium sized enterprises (SMEs) to grow through innovation. He/she will provide business and technology advisory services to SMEs, provide networking and linkage services to SMEs and will assess their innovation projects for potential IRAP funding.

The incumbent will promote the awareness of and facilitate access to programs, expertise and services available from NRC and other government organizations, as well as from universities, colleges and other non-government organizations.

In order to better serve IRAP’s clients, the incumbent will develop and maintain a network of business and professional contacts in his/her sector of expertise.
 

Education

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering in a discipline related to the position from a recognized university.

Preference may be given to candidates with a complementary degree or diploma in business, management, administration, finance or marketing.

Experience

Recent and extensive industrial business experience in his/her sector/domain of expertise as an entrepreneur or senior manager, preferably in SMEs.

Recent and extensive private sector experience in developing and commercializing innovative products, processes or services, with demonstrable outcomes.

Industrial experience in one or more of the following domains may be considered an asset:

• Electronic controls, systems, remote sensing
• Mechanical Devices – design and manufacture
• Manufacturing - machine and equipment
• Product Design
• Energy Efficiency/alternative energy
• Virtual/augmented reality

Experience in international business development and/or intellectual property management will be considered an asset.
 

Condition of employment

• Must be able to travel.
• A valid driver’s license is required.

Le ou la titulaire aidera les petites et moyennes entreprises (PME) canadiennes à croitre grâce à l’innovation. Il ou elle offrira aux PME des services-conseils techniques et d’affaires, des services de réseautage et des contacts et analysera leurs projets novateurs en vue d’une possible aide financière.

Le ou la titulaire favorisera la sensibilisation et l’accès aux programmes, aux compétences et aux services offerts par le CNRC et d’autres organisations gouvernementales ainsi que par les universités, les collèges et les organismes non gouvernementaux.

Pour mieux servir les clients du PARI, le ou la titulaire développera et maintiendra un réseau de contacts professionnels dans son champ d’expertise.
 

Études

Les candidat(e)s doivent posséder un Baccalauréat en sciences ou en génie d’une université reconnue dans une discipline en lien avec le poste.

Une préférence pourrait être accordée aux candidat(e)s qui possèdent également un diplôme en administration des affaires, en gestion, en administration, en finances ou en marketing.
 

Expérience

Vaste expérience acquise récemment dans le milieu des affaires industrielles dans le domaine de compétences à titre d’entrepreneur ou de gestionnaire principal, de préférence au sein d’une PME.

Vaste expérience acquise récemment dans le secteur privé liée à la mise au point et à la mise en marché de produits, procédés ou services novateurs, avec résultats tangibles à l’appui.

Expérience industrielle dans l’un ou plusieurs des domaines que voici sera possiblement considéré un atout:

• Régulateurs électroniques, systèmes connexes et télédétection
• Dispositifs mécaniques – conception et fabrication
• Fabrication – machine et équipement
• Conception de produits
• Efficacité énergétique/énergie de remplacement
• Réalité virtuelle et amplifiée

Expérience en développement des affaires à l’international et/ou gestion de la propriété intellectuelle sera considéré comme un atout.

Condition d'emploi

• Doit être capable de voyager.
• Un permis de conduire valide est requis.
